Different Activities of Colour Recognition for Preschoolers

Children should be perfect in recognizing the colours fairly and quickly when parents and teachers conduct the colour recognition activities, because color recognition is a significant skill for preschoolers, before sending them to kindergarten. Parents need to conduct few activities to make their children recognize the colours.

Crafting hand book: Crafting hand book is one of the activities. This is a fun way to teach the skills of colour recognition to children. Children will love this book and they will enjoy by making mark with all colors of rainbow. Preschoolers will like to show this book to their friends. This book can be a small present and it can act as proof for colour recognition skills in future.

For this you need construction paper, 10 sheets of 8 ½ X 11 white paper, washable paint in pink, red, purple, green, blue, yellow, orange, black and brown, paintbrush, stapler.

Directions:
  • Take the pink paint and paint child's hand with a light coat of the pink colour paint.
  • In order to make a hand prints, have the child press his or her hands into a piece of paper.
  • This step is repeated with each colour.
  • Then let hand print sheets dry and once all the sheets are dry then arrange them into a book format by using the sheets of construction paper as front and back cover for book and staple them together to make as book. Front and back sheets are decorated with paint, crayons, stickers, etc.
  • Then handbook is completed, ask the children to read the book by saying the name of colour.
Playing games: Children can learn the colour recognition skills by different colour recognition playing games. Know about different games to teach your child colour recognition skills.
