Without having proper distance if you drive faster then it may lessen the reaction time when you have to face a problem with vehicle which is in front of you. You should slow down the vehicle suddenly.

Using brakes forcefully: If you use brakes suddenly when you feel your tires start to slip, it may cause a panic, traction from your tires is removed. You will loose the ability to control the vehicle.

Driving fast: Some of the drivers have bad habit of driving at high speed when they reach the highway. But, it is wrong. You should react faster if you drive faster. Speed driving reduces your reacting time if there is any problem.
