Need to Know About An Employment Agency?

An organization which helps in matching the employers and employees is called an employment agency. Many public and private employment agencies are there in order to provide job opportunities for job seekers.

Local factory applicants can make use of public employment agencies. Application forms for new rounds of hiring and expansion of workforce, are provided by many companies to the public employment agencies. Companies who want to hire new employees might have very less number of staff in human resource department. So it is very difficult for them to screen large number of applicants. However, large personnel are hired by public employment agencies who can screen and process thousands of applications. Many employment agencies hire unemployed workers to visit the agency in order to fill out numerous applications.

Employment agencies have a list of skilled, unskilled, and semi-skilled persons available for hiring. The list of these individuals is maintained in a database. When an employer asks for hiring for a specific job position, the list of candidates from the database having matched skills of the position would be called for an interview. A few steps of interview may be conducted by the agency and remaining ones by the company. However, some companies prefer to complete all the steps at the agency itself.

Private employment agencies are also similar to public employment agencies. However, the number of people working in a private employment agency is less when compared to those in public employment agency. Private agencies may also be involved in providing training including resume writing, presentation, and interviewing skills to the candidates. It may be applied to some agencies which charge a fee to job applicants. It is essential for such job-search-consulting firms to get licensed as employment agencies in some areas of the United States.
