Types of Yeast Infection in Mouth

Oral yeast infection's scientific name is thrush. Yeast infection of the mouth is caused by candida albicans. It shows some signs like white, thick, and lacy patches inside mouth and on tongue as well. If white patches are scraped, they will become red and some release the blood. White coating or redness on the tongue can be caused by the oral yeast infection.

Oral thrush can move into throat and the esophagus and further. It creates more complications in body. Generally, all healthy people have 30 to 60 percent of normal bacteria of the Candida albicans. There are four clinical types of mouth yeast infections they are


Moniliasis or thrush: There is coating on mouth's surface that coating is in both smooth and creamy and it may be white or yellow color in case of moniliasis or thrush. If mouth's surface is scraped then it will become red.


Erythematous: In case of erythematous, there are red patches on the entire surface of tongue and upper palate.


Hyperplasitc: Extra growth of discolored tissues in case of hyperplastic and it can be caused by food or tobacco. Here, there is a chance to spread to other parts of the body, so one should take immediate remedial measures.


Angular cheilitis: There will be a red cracks at the corners of the mouth of the individuals in case of angular cheilitis. It is very painful.


In can case of children, they may feel irritable and they refuse to eat anything because of oral yeast infection which creates burning sensation in mouth, and it may affect the immune system of the children.


Everyone should take proper diet, it makes the immune system stronger and also prevents the oral yeast infection.
