How to Maintain Color of Towels?

Towels are used for many purposes in many industries including home. Towels are used for many purposes like drying, mopping, blotting, wiping the hands, body, surfaces, furniture, cleaning kitchens and tiles etc.

Towel is a piece of absorbent cloth which is used to draw the moisture. Towels are available in various sizes with different shapes, patterns, colors and fabrics. The fabric of towels can be cotton, rayon, terry cloth, honey comb fabric, micro fiber, bamboo, non-woven fibers or a few other materials.

One of the most important features of towel is its color. Depending on the colors and patterns of the towels onlookers can have a cheering and soothing effect. If you choose vibrant colored towels then they don't appear dirty very soon.

Even colorful towels can be used as a decorative material too. While choosing towels for decorative then it should be versatility to your home interiors. For kids, you have to choose  playful colors like sunny yellow, lime green and pinks.

However these vibrant or light colored towels quickly fade when you wash these for many times or put to dry in sunlight. Salt and vinegar are the two things which can be used to prevent the towel color from fading.

Tips:
  • Read the washable instructions for the towel so that you can prevent colors from fading.
  • For the first few washes of the new towel, use or add the salt to the water to prevent the fading of the color.
  • You can even wash towels with the white vinegar by adding to the bucket of water.
  • Never use fabric softeners or bleach because this might lead to fading of colors.
  • Choose a detergent that is meant to the particular towel, otherwise it is harmful.
