Know About Yogic Breathing and Its Benefits

Doing physical exercises is quite common and a regular practice for most of us. It needs immense physical strain and less effort through mind. Even though these exercises gives a good relief even for the brain they are not enough to cope with the present day stress and strain. Hence one of the best ways to face any mental and emotional imbalances is to do mind yoga with powerful breathing exercises.

Yoga follows simple logic - we may survive without food and water but not without air. And it strongly believes that air around us contains a life force. When the air is inhaled, it is mixed with blood and sent to various parts of the body and hence pumps life through out the body. Even though we do regular breathing we use only upper part of our respiratory tract for breathing. And moreover, instead of taking large quantities of air we tend to take small quantities and that too in a faulty way.

Yoga follows an excellent technique called pranayama with which the human body gains control over the entire inhaling life force. Following are the benefits associated with the yogic breathing and the technique of pranayama.
  • Gives an internal massage to the internal organs like the heart and the lungs.
  • Relaxes the mind from tension and stress by acting as a powerful stress buster.
  • Helps in curing any respiratory related disorders like the asthma, bronchitis and shortness of breath.
  • Also helps is strengthening the cardiovascular system and stimulates the nervous system.
  • Removes the harmful toxins in the blood and aids in body's detoxification process.
  • Increases inner peace by reducing stress and anxiety.
  • It also improves the concentration and the memory power through regular practice.
  • Yogic breathing calms the emotions, increases the emotional stability and balance the emotional disturbances.
  • Especially it helps the individual to keep in touch with the inner self and gives control over the entire body.
