Effects of Drug Addiction in Adolescents

As per National Institute on Drug Abuse, the using of drug is increasing in recent years. Drugs are available to those who select to use them either as chronic drug abusers or who use them in experimental way, but users and their family members can be devastated by the consequences of such use.

Effects on education:
As per survey of Census Bureau, in U.S., all high school students' school dropout rates varied by state from 5 percent to nearly 11 percent. It can be hard for adolescents to function as the addiction strengthens. Though, they attend the school but they may be unable to learn due to influence of drugs. Voluntary removal from the school or forcing removal from school by expulsion are led by this.

Effects on health: Effects on health is most devastated effect of drug-addiction of an adolescent. Severe effects on a teenager can be caused by legal or illegal drugs,those may be ranging from liver problems to cardiac arrest. Any way because of drug overdose, most dangerous health consequences occurs and these may lead to death.

Criminal consequences: Criminal consequences which are associated with drug use effects the adolescents' life. Exceptions are not made by law for teen drug users. Using, selling, motivate use of drugs lead many criminal problems. Stealing money to buy drugs also a part of criminal activity this may be led by drug addiction. The chances of committing many criminal offense can be increased by using drug by adolescent.

Costs: There is an increased price drug treatment and health care, for every adolescent drug addict. There is high cost for average drug addiction treatment. Increase the risk of diseases and increase the cost for treatments.

So the drug addiction can lead to many problems like criminal consequences, risk of health, loss of education, etc, so it is better to avoid the use of drugs.
