Importance of Education

Let me share the importance of education in our life that I’ve read in some articles. I have collected some important points and now sharing here. The importance of education is very clear. Education is the knowledge of putting one's potentials to maximum utilize. One can safely say that a human being is not in the proper sense till he is educated. These are some reasons of importance of education.

• The first reason is a human mind is incomplete without education. Education makes man a right thinker. It tells man how to think, how to make right decision and motivates them.
• The second reason is only through the attainment of education, man is enabled to receive information from the external world. Man is as though in a closed room when he was without education. And with education he finds himself in a room with all its windows open towards outside world. So educated think globally.
• The third reason is education is the process of instruction aimed at the all round development of individuals, giving the necessary tools and knowledge to understand and active participate in day-to-day activities of today’s world.
• The humans learn the human values from education. It inspires and gives the confidence to face challenges. It provides the skills to individuals to become more self-reliant and aware of opportunities and rights. It also enhances the ability of individuals to manage health problems, improve nutrition and childcare, and plan for the future.

The education not only impacts on human development and economic growth, but also is the fundamental requirement of democracy. Through education people become more responsible and informed citizens than the uneducated people, and have a voice in politics and society, which is essential for sustaining democracy. It is essential for eradicating poverty and it allows people to be more productive playing greater roles in economic life and earning a better living. The researches have shown that the life expectancy rises by as much as 2 years for every 1 per cent increase in literacy.
